As a freight broker at PNI Solutions, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in connecting shippers with carriers and contributing to the seamless movement of freight.
Responsibilities:
- Client Engagement: Cultivate and maintain relationships with shippers and carriers to identify and secure new business opportunities.
- Load Coordination: Match customer freight requirements with suitable carriers, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transportation solutions.
- Negotiation Skills: Develop and leverage negotiation skills to secure favorable rates and terms with both shippers and carriers.
- Documentation Management: Handle all necessary documentation for shipments, including bills of lading, shipping manifests, and customs paperwork.
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve issues promptly, ensuring a smooth transportation process and overall customer satisfaction.
- Market Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to make informed business decisions.
Requirements:
- Experience: While no prior experience is required, preference will be given to candidates with at least one year of experience as a Freight Broker.
- Willingness to Learn: Must be eager to undergo training and become proficient in the Transportation Management System (TMS) used by PNI Solutions.
- Effective Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with clients and carriers.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and make informed decisions under pressure.
- Regulatory Knowledge: A basic understanding of transportation regulations and industry standards is a plus.
Compensation:
Freight Brokers at PNI Solutions operate as independent contractors and will be paid on a 1099 basis. The compensation structure is commission-based, with brokers receiving 30% of the total payment per load.
